Opening Doors Board Member Position

Description 

Opening Doors is seeking new board members committed to the mission of empowering immigrants, refugees, survivors of human trafficking, and underserved Sacramento Area residents to achieve self-sufficiency by accessing opportunities to mainstream economic and social systems. Opening Doors provides refugee resettlement, microenterprise loans, comprehensive case management for survivors of human trafficking, English Language Development courses, and more.

Lutheran Episcopal Volunteer Network

LEVN, the Lutheran Episcopal Volunteer Network, is looking for young adults (age 21-30) with Bachelor’s degrees for an 11-month program of non-profit volunteer service and learning about social justice. From the end of August 2017 to the end of July 2018, corps members will be provided housing, utilities, health insurance, transportation, spiritual direction, and a $400/month food stipend. They also offer a $1000 re-entry grant at the completion of the program.

Sierra Nevada Journeys

Sierra Nevada Journeys offers innovative outdoor, science-based education programs for youth to develop critical thinking skills and to inspire natural resource stewardship. You don’t need a degree in science to make a difference in science education. We have volunteers from all walks of life and all backgrounds: parents, teachers, foresters, bankers, Rotarians and more. Whether you join us for a few hours or a few years, we are very grateful to everyone who joins the Sierra Nevada Journeys’ mission.

The volunteer workforce is a valuable resource that offers financial and labor savings for non-profits while strengthening our community well-being.  Team Giving’s mission is to inspire, guide, and advocate for non-profit organizations in the Sacramento region by matching their needs with businesses, service clubs, and individuals to complete volunteer projects.  We offer free volunteer coordination services, working to support the existing volunteer systems in place at our non-profit partners while widening their volunteer pool and simplifying the coordination process.
