Grant Proposal Master Series — Fall 2018

Are you an experienced grant proposal writer looking for in-depth direction on improving your skills and funding results?  

This high impact series will provide theoretical information and practical tools PLUS the opportunity to put the theory to practice under the guidance of two highly experienced proposal development professionals.  

Critical tools will include creating a Logic Model, developing Goals, Objectives and Outcomes for organizational programs, and personal proposal feedback from the presenters as well as fellow participants. Over the course of five sessions, attendees will develop more in-depth understanding of techniques and strategies to create successful grant proposals. 


Session #1 Sept 13:  Before You Begin Writing

  • Research your organization
  • Assess the funding opportunity
  • Determine the need for your program
  • Develop a needs statement

Session #2 Sept 20 :  Program Development, Part One

  • Logic Models
  • Program implementation timeline
  • Program Descriptions
  • Staffing
  • Budgets & Narratives

Session #3 Sept 27:  Program Development, ​Part Two

  • Collaborative partnerships
  • MOUs
  • Linking activities, outcomes and goals
  • Measuring success
  • Evaluation as stewardship
  • Sustainability plans
  • Proposal development

Session #4 Oct 11:  Check-In, Feedback, Proposals Due

  • Presenters consult one-on-one with each participant
  • Conference calls by appointment during October 27 – November 6
  • Individual proposals due for critique by Friday November 7th!
  • Review of proposals
  • Learn best practices
  • Final feedback from presenters
  • Wrap-up and next steps


  • Participants must have attended our basic grant proposal writing curriculum
    (Ready, Set, Go! and Nuts & Bolts and Finding Grant Funders)
  • OR demonstrate sufficient tenure and experience in the proposal development field to be considered at an intermediate or advanced skill level.


  • There will be no make-up sessions available; you must attend ALL sessions.
